Yes. Spritz for Bits offers the same benefits as it does for the perineal/anal area. The essential oils within Spritz for Bits have been shown to help relieve itching, stinging and discomfort and also help to moisturise C-section wounds. The National Institute for Care Excellence (NICE) provides guidance for all aspects of clinical care in the UK. The advice from NICE is that the dressing should be removed after 24 hours and cleaned daily. Some NHS Hospitals advise the use of essentials oils, as part of that cleaning regime to aid healing, soothe discomfort and swelling and help to prevent infection. You can also use the Spritz for Bits as a spray or by soaking a tissue and applying as often as needed, to help with general itching and discomfort of the c-section wound, which is normal as it begins to heal. If you begin to suffer with discomfort, redness, tenderness or oozing from around the wound area, a strange smell or pain in your lower abdomen ask your midwife or GP to check your wound to make sure that you’re not developing an infection.
